No Place Called Home Opens in New York City in October!

Intersections is preparing for a nomadic run of the original play No Place Called Home, written and performed by Actress Kim Schultz, directed by Sarah Cameron Sunde, with music by Amikaeyla Gaston. No Place Called Home tells the story of an American woman who travels to the Middle East to interview Iraqi refugees and accidentally falls in love with one of them. This is the story of one American woman and one Iraqi man (one refugee out of 4 million)--a story that isn’t supposed to be a love story.
The play comes out of the experience Actress Kim Schultz had as part of the Iraqi Voices Amplification Project. In the fall of 2009, Intersections brought a delegation of eight American artists to Jordan, Lebanon and Syria to interview Iraqi refugees in their homes and community center. While on the trip, the delegation entered into conversations with over 150 refugees to hear their stories and upon returning to the U.S., create art inspired by the experience. No Place Called Home is designed to humanize the crisis and build a community of people dedicated to improving the situation for Iraqi refugees.
This nomadic run of No Place Called Home is produced in collaboration with Parlagreco Productions, Aaron Louis and 3-Legged Dog, the cell and Wild Project. It will open Oct. 8th and run thru Oct. 31st. A new website with more information and ticket sales will launch Sept.1st, so check back soon!
