Developed in 2008, the Veteran – Civilian Dialogue TM (VCD) is a powerful form of community building and social healing focused on addressing the cost of conflict in our society and to provide meaningful tools of reconciliation and healing. The VCD is a three hour live event with equal numbers of veterans and civilians in facilitated conversations around the impact of war upon both groups. They have proven to be life altering for those who attend and healing for the larger elements of the communities that are brought together through the process.

In honor of America’s 224th birthday, Prepare New York, a coalition of New York based interfaith organizations including Intersections International, launched the video We the People. This video celebrates just how far we’ve come towards living out our ideals, and allows us space to reflect on how far we still have to go, together as a nation.

Determined to give voice to the millions of Christians who believe in equal rights for all, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) community, Believe Out Loud, a project of Intersections International, is launching a campaign to get one million Christians to break the silence and join the burgeoning chorus for full LGBT equality in the church.

The Veteran-Civilian Dialogue is a comprehensive and replicable program that works to empower veterans to fully re-integrate into civilian society and educate civilians about the unique needs and strengths of returning military personnel. The first virtual Veteran-Civilian Dialogue was held on September 17, 2010 in the virtual world of Second Life.
