More than 100 guests packed Intersections Saturday, May 16, for the premiere performance of the TE'A Project (Theatre Engagement & Action), produced by Intersections and Rahda Productions, in collaboration with the NiteStar Program.

The TE'A Project uses interactive theatre to inspire the desire and the will of young people to cross the barriers of race, class, culture and religion in America's communities. Through dialogue, the project provides an opportunity for audiences to hear and feel the stories of Muslim and non-Muslim New Yorkers, and how their lives were changed after 9/11.

The project is based on a series of interviews of some 30 people that documented their stories. These videotaped interviews were used as the basis for the script, which is performed by the cast of NiteStar Productions, under the direction of Cheryl Paley.

At the end of the performance, organizer Radha Kramer led a "talk with" discussion that gave the audience the opportunity to ask questions of any of the characters portrayed by the actors. Each actor responded in character.
