Two Intersections staff members have recently received honors of note.

Project Manager Sung Park was awarded a 21st Century Fellowship for
persons who are working with people of color in the LGBT Movement. This
highly competitive Fellowship program has been made available by the
Arcus Foundation and the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund in
partnership with the Rockwood Leadership Institute. It will offer a
series of workshops and retreats to enhance his leadership skills in
this area.

Sam Simon is the 2009 recipient of the Donald H. McGannon Award,
given out annually by the Office of Communication of the United Church
of Christ to individuals who have demonstrated a lifetime of commitment
to advancing the place of women and people of color in the media.
Previous awardees include ABC News’s Carole Simpson, CNN’s Judy
Woodruff and former FCC Commissioner Newton Minnow.

Congratulations to both Sung and Sam.
