“Much good has been done by [the Collegiate Church] in the last 400 years, and I am very excited to be with Intersections as we try to do a better job toward the next 400 years.”
Intersections Welcomes New Board Chair and Three New Board Members in 2011
As we head into 2011, Christopher Moore—a New York City Landmarks Preservation Commissioner, Research Coordinator of the New York Public Library's Schomburg Center and Elder of the Collegiate Church—will become the next Chair of the Intersections Board. “The Collegiate Church is a founding American church and the plan to extend its ministry nationally and globally [through Intersections International] is an awesome project,” he said. “I feel strongly that the Collegiate Church, associated with America's beginning, should become a leader in the local, national, and global future of the American Christian church.”
Moore will be joined by returning board members Danita Branam (treasurer), Marcia Fingal (secretary), and Susan Fischer. New members include Richard Dickens, Program Coordinator of Blood Cancers and Project Coordinator of the Mind/Body Program at CancerCare; Jay Godfrey, Seminar Designer for the United Methodist Seminars on National and International Affairs Division; and Marvin Rodríguez, a public agency architect. In August 2010, long time board members Matt Campbell, Tiffany Houck-Loomis and Pat Snee completed their terms.
The Intersections Board is composed of members who represent the four other ministries of the Collegiate Church which include Fort Washington, Marble, Middle, and West End Collegiate Churches. Last year, Intersections Executive Director Rev. Robert Chase chaired the board. He will now work alongside Board Chair Christopher Moore. “Much good has been done by [the Collegiate Church] in the last 400 years,” Moore said. “I am very excited to be with Intersections as we try to do a better job toward the next 400 years.”
