Caritas Assists Iraqi Refugees

This cabinet was full of binders with years five
years worth of cases. The harsh reality of the life of a refugee is
highlighted here: you are either resettled or your case is rejected. EVI
stands for Extremely Vulnerable Individuals/Iraqis, who are supposed to be
fast-tracked for resettlement. We were told multiple times that EVI’s would not
be sent to the U.S. due to lengthy processing times we have for accepting
refugees.
